Easter Hols
I had a wonderful, long Easter holiday, though I didn't have much rest, since I spent most of my days in church. I skipped the Maundy Thursday march, which lasted the whole night. I heard from those who went, that they only returned back on Friday morning at 7am. It must have been spiritually fulfilling but physically draining. Though I skipped the march, I attended Maundy Thursday Mass. I was late as usual. Only arrived at the Gloria. After which I went for my company function, which was very well planned, I must admit. I was very entertained.
Good Friday was spent at the children's service instead. Rather than the usual Stations, we had the passion play which incorporated everything - Stations, homily, veneration of the cross, communion. Passion play wasn't too bad, though the service was seriously tailored for kids. I would have preferred the adult service.
Holy Saturday - attended the morning prayer and baptismal rehearsal early in the morning. It was Kwai's big day and I was proxy godmothering her, so I had to attend the rehearsals with her. I realise Fr. Joe recycles his baptismal jokes every year. Well, I guess that's all right since the audience is different every year. (Catholics can get baptised only once.) I managed to do my pre-Easter confessions on Saturday too. Then of course I attended Easter Vigil - the mother of all Masses. It started at 8pm and ended at 11.15pm. Surprisingly I wasn't bored and didn't find it long. Maybe it was because I anticipated it? Mass was good. Watching the Catechumens get baptised one by one really brings back memories of my own baptism - one of the happiest days of my life. Anyway, congrats, Kwai (if you're reading this...) on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Oh yeah. Fr. Luke was having a wild time with his holy water. I heard his enthusiasm with the holy water lasted till the next day and the same thing happened at the Sunday Masses. The Sponsors and Kwai had supper after that. The food was so much and so good.Well, maybe a little too much and too good. I was dead tired by the time I reached home.
Fell asleep and didn't wake up for Mass on Sunday. Of course, Easter Vigil fulfills Sunday obligation, so it was generally alright. First time in a 4-month history, I had a day to myself. I woke up in the afternoon. It was darn good, I tell you.
Oh oh. Did I mention, I bought my PDA phone on Saturday? After such a long time of hunting and deliberating, I finally bought one. Sunday was spent analysing the phone, of course. I had to make sure I knew how to at least answer calls/sms before I go to work on Monday. I could kill myself if I fail to know how to use the phone while at work.
Okay. I'm going to catch some sleep now.
