Lost my phone =(

For the very first time in my life, I lost my phone. In a cab. I still find its quite a pity considering firstly, its a darn new phone. Only 2 weeks old. Secondly, I could have gotten it back because I realised I lost it almost immediately after I got off the cab. I called the cab company and provided them with every single detail, even the cab number. It's their fault by coming up with some excuse like "the driver didn't pick up his phone". I was just so damn irritated especially because every time I call their hotline, they put me on hold and made me wait and wait. Bunch of idiots. They managed to get hold of the driver only after Esther told me someone switched off the phone already. How dumb is that?

Forget it. I guess I can only blame myself for being careless, careless, careless.

Then the trip down to the police post was another frustrating matter. I spent over an hour there trying to make my report, but the guy just couldn't get the sequence of events right. Like how tough is it writing a half page report? He took like forever to type something with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors some more. Well, I corrected his spelling, but decided against correcting his grammer. I guess I didn't want to embarrass him further. Not to mention I was so bored out of my mind that I just took out my novel to read while he typed away.

Actually I think part of me feels lousy because I never take what doesn't belong to me. Not that I can remember anyway. I always return handphones to the rightful owner. Once I picked up a couple of hundred dollars near the lecture theatre, I surrendered it to the prof even though I knew no one would ever find out. Unless of course the amount isn't big and there's no way to find the owner. So why should this happen? Lesson of the day: Honesty never pays.
