Since I dedicated one post to Katharine McPhee, I decided to do one for the grey-haired soul patrolman, himself.

When this grey-haired man walked into the auditions room about half a year ago, I knew he was my American Idol.
More about Taylor at www.idolonfox.com.
To my parents, he was the ‘old man’ of American Idol.
To me, he was the soul patrol, as he so often reminds us.
Taylor Hicks is a good singer.
Most importantly, he is one of the best entertainers as well. This sets him apart from his other competitors.
He sang one of my favourite songs, and very well too. Watch him sing “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”.
He absolutely loves fast songs, and for a good reason too.
He does them so well.
He has a relatively weird style of dancing, which brought me to fits of laughter the first time I saw him do his exaggerated moves. After a while, I realise it's his style. It's so... Taylor.
Simon once laughed and asked him, Are you drunk?
No, Simon, Taylor isn't intoxicated.
He's just having fun...
I remember, Rod Stewart liked it and said so during the Great American Songbook night.
Listen to his "Jailhouse Rock" mp3 rendition during the Elvis night.
Taylor is equally great with slow songs.
See him sing “Just Once”.
Or watch his rendition of “Something”.
Taylor has the X-factor.
America adores him.
Even Simon loves him too.

I just watched Jay Leno's show on CNBC earlier on. Apparently Simon said Taylor is the favourite at the moment. I believe those were his actual words.

Taylor Hicks is a star.
He ought to win.
Did anyone see the crowd of people swarming around him when he returned home to Birmingham, Alabama? Wooo...
I hope he wins.
Vote for him, American soul-patrol fans! Don't let us all down!
