(Mis)adventure at the restaurant

Okay, this is dumb.

My mum came home from work today, telling us all about her good friend/colleague's (mis)adventure at some restaurant. Apparently this friend was having dinner last evening with her husband and another 2 friends when they spotted a cockroach in their soup. Like omg. Can you believe it? A cockroach in the blardy soup, and they were like half way through already. So naturally they called the manager in and informed him. I would have thought the manager would have been apologetic, but no... guess what? The sonofagun told them it was no biggie and that there are people who eat cockroaches too. He also proceeded to point out to them that the cockroach couldn't have dropped into the soup for too long because... oh listen to this... because the cockroach would have disintergrated into the soup if boiled too long.

Oh my gosh. Like hello?

Anyway, the husband kinda made a big fuss at the resturant and my mum's friend whipped out her hp and started taking pictures of the soup. At that, the manager told her not to bother. She was welcome to take home that bowl of soup as souvenir. Oh yeah, he even offered them a discount for their meal, which they rejected, and paid in full. Then they headed home and immediately informed the health authorities, who took immediate action. Oh yeah, I think the manager was sacked too.

Just in case anyone is wondering, yes, this happened in Singapore. Last night.
